How the Admission Process Works
- Contact our admissions team. Call 248-599-8999 x1. Individuals may call for themselves, and family members, healthcare professionals, or referral partners may also call for general information or help beginning a referral.
- Complete a confidential screening. We will ask about the services being requested, current substance use, withdrawal symptoms, physical and mental health concerns, medications, safety needs, prior treatment, and insurance or funding information.
- Review the recommended next step. Based on the information available, our team will discuss whether Meridian appears able to meet the individual’s needs and whether further assessment, medical clearance, authorization, or another level of care is required.
- Confirm coverage, funding, and availability. Admissions staff will explain the initial insurance-verification or funding process. Additional authorization may be required from the individual’s insurance company or local Medicaid access center before services can be approved. The individual is responsible for contacting these organizations and completing any required authorization steps. Coverage and admission are not guaranteed until eligibility, clinical criteria, all required authorizations, and program availability are confirmed.
- Prepare for the appointment or intake. When services are scheduled, our team will provide the location, arrival time, documents to bring, medication instructions, and any program-specific preparation guidance.
- Complete assessment and admission. At arrival, staff will review required forms and complete the assessments needed to develop an individualized treatment plan. Admission remains subject to final clinical and medical review.
Please note: Availability can change, and urgent or medically complex needs may require hospital-level care or another provider. Our team will explain the safest next step based on the information available.
