Life Skills & Vocational Readiness
Building a Life That Supports Recovery
Recovery involves more than remaining substance-free. It also means learning how to navigate the responsibilities, relationships, routines, and challenges of everyday life.
Life-skills programming helps clients strengthen practical abilities that can support greater stability and independence after treatment.
Depending on individual needs, programming may address communication, decision-making, problem solving, time management, healthy routines, organization, goal setting, interpersonal skills, self-care, and navigating community resources.
Vocational readiness can help individuals begin preparing for employment and other productive roles by strengthening workplace skills, identifying goals, building confidence, and addressing barriers that may affect successful employment.
The goal is to help clients leave treatment not only with a recovery plan, but with practical skills for building the life that plan is meant to support.
